Red Rising (2021)

A fantastic series of novels, which is why I couldn’t stop myself from making a poster based on the first: Red Rising. Through lockdown, I decided to have another crack at some of my older projects. Incorporating some new learned skill sets to mimic professional industry-standard movie posters. Further demonstrating my love of the science-fiction genre of both film and books.

Brief Synopsis:
”A 2014 science-fiction dystopian novel by American author Pierce Brown, and the first book and eponym of a series. Set on a future planet Mars, the novel follows lowborn miner, Darrow, a Red, as he infiltrates the ranks of the elite Golds.”

The Dark Tower (2021)

My favourite book series of all time. Realising the innumerable advantages of using Photoshop instead of Illustrator, I revisited one of my previous creations, inspired Stephen King’s magnum opus. ‘The Gunslinger’ is where it all begins, and if you’re familiar with the series, there are a few hidden references to find…

Brief Synopsis:
“The story centres upon Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger, who has been chasing his adversary, "the man in black," for many years. The novel fuses Western fiction with fantasy, science fiction, and horror, following Roland's trek through a vast desert and beyond in search of the man in black.”

Woman to Woman (2017)

A poster inspired by the 1944 film-noir, murder-mystery ‘Double Indemnity’. This, as well as the song ‘Woman to Woman’ by Sherley Brown (well worth a listen!). The visual tone of this fictional motion-picture landed somewhere between ‘Sin City’ and ‘The Spirit’.

She (2016)

Another poster, this time inspired by the song ‘She’ by Elvis Costello (give it a listen if you haven’t already!). For whatever reason, the second I heard it, I had to make this. It gave me thoughts of a woman, her struggles and the pressures of competing in a male-dominated society.
